General Meeting : "Charitable Estate Gifts: Changing The Conversation" with Betty Krejci, Dir. of Dev.
Betty has been a fundraising professional for the past eleven years. Having received her training at the School of Philanthropy at Indiana University/Purdue University in Indianapolis, Indiana, she went on to lead a $33M campaign for the College of Consumer and Family Sciences at Purdue University.
In 2004 she accepted a position at Western Washington University, Bellingham, WA. There she took the planned giving program to the next level by building a website to engage professionals and prospective donors; developed print materials to encourage planned gifts; began a community planned giving educational program to take the “mystery” out of careful estate planning; and successfully secured new gifts and closed estate gifts on behalf of the University.
Currently Betty is the Director of Marketing and Development for LifeWorks NW, in Portland, OR. There she leads a team of five in securing the funds to support the mission of the agency.
